The hobbit is pretty awesome. I can’t believe it got mixed reviews. Its quite possibly my favorite book ever, so I am quite pleased. Somehow, I was able to download the dvd screener copy before the movie is even out of the theater. Must totally not be good for business, but awesome for me!
Gandalf is awesome. He is basically the jesus quasi enlightened character of the books/films. He goes through a death/rebirth process after he dies battling the balrog fire demon thing. He is reborn as Gandalf the white. His color gets purified from grey to white, and uh yeah. Lord of the rings and the hobbit are very allegorical and probably one of the best stories ever told.

Even in the books, the only time Gandalf uses his powers is when Bilbo is unconscious and can’t witness them! Lol.
